hORMONE PELLET THERAPY
As we age, our hormones begin to change and offset our body’s natural balance. These hormonal imbalances can unveil several unsettling symptoms, such as reduced muscle mass, weight management issues, sleep deprivation, loss of focus and libido, irritability, and other body aches and pains.
At AgeRejuvenation, we offer a hormone pellet therapy program that will help balance your body and improve your sleep, energy, and overall wellness. Our pellets are derived from 100% natural and bio-identical sources and the procedure is quick and virtually painless.

UNDERSTANDING MALE SEX HORMONES
It’s no secret that our hormone levels play a significant role in our body’s everyday function. When it comes to men, the sex hormone testosterone is extremely important in the regulation of:
Sex drive
Muscle mass
Bone mass
Metabolism; fat distribution
Red blood cell production
Sperm production
Furthermore, testosterone is responsible for the creation of male characteristics. As young boys mature into adolescent and adult men, testosterone is used to stimulate body hair growth, voice change, and muscle mass.
HOW IS TESTOSTERONE PRODUCED?
Before we can talk about how testosterone is created in the male body, we need to know where it is produced. Almost all of our body’s testosterone can be found in the male gonads, known as the testes or testicles. Meanwhile, about 5% of testosterone production also takes place in the adrenal glands.
A specific hormone found in the testes called luteinizing hormone, or LH, is responsible for testosterone production. This unique hormone regulates testosterone levels and can either increase or decrease testosterone in our bodies.
However, as we age, testosterone levels begin to steadily decline, which can lead to the natural male aging process known as andropause.
WHAT IS ANDROPAUSE?
Testosterone levels in men peak around the age of twenty. However, when a man enters the third decade of his life, he may begin to experience a drop in testosterone and notice changes in his body.
These changes are often referred to as andropause, a process that can be compared to the female aging process of menopause.
WHEN DOES ANDROPAUSE OCCUR?
Unlike women and menopause, men do not have a clear-cut signpost marking the transition into andropause. Because the decline in testosterone levels is gradual, physical, and mental changes occur slowly. For instance, some men may experience andropause in their 40s and 50s while others will not feel the effects until they are in their mid-60s.
HOW ANDROPAUSE AFFECTS TESTOSTERONE LEVELS
According to a study conducted by Harvard Medical School, testosterone levels drop 1% to 2% each year as men age. Although this may seem awfully slow at first, the fall in testosterone adds up over the years.
In fact, the average man loses around 100 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL) as they age from 40 years to 70 years old. This often results in a hormone deficiency called low T, or low testosterone. Low T can be treated through testosterone replacement therapy.
Often, the symptoms of imbalanced hormones in men are merely considered the signs of aging. Yet, these changes can dramatically affect your quality of life and well-being. To understand andropause further, let us take a deeper look at common male hormone imbalance symptoms.
MALE HORMONE IMBALANCE SYMPTOMS
Although fluctuations in our hormone levels are natural, they can cause several male hormone deficiencies and result in many unwanted side effects. For example, symptoms of low testosterone include:
Weight gain
Reduced muscle mass
Low libido
Erectile dysfunction
Sleepless nights
Irritability
Loss of focus
Loss of motivation
Low energy and fatigue
More importantly, decreased testosterone levels, whether due to aging or other conditions, may put you at risk for serious health problems such as heart disease and weak bones. Left unaddressed, these symptoms can increase throughout your 40s and 50s, stealing your self-confidence and sense of achievement in your personal and professional life.
Since our bodies respond differently to changes, these symptoms vary in severity from person to person.
WHAT CAUSES MALE HORMONE IMBALANCES?
All our hormones work together to achieve balance in our bodies. However, several factors can cause our hormones to change, including:
Aging (andropause)
Stress
Genetics
Underlying health issues
This, in turn, results in a hormone imbalance. When we begin to notice a hormone deficiency of a specific hormone, it may alter our sleep patterns, mood, energy, metabolism, and even sexual performance.
Along with andropause, the two main causes of hormone imbalances in men include adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. Keep reading to learn more.
ADRENAL FATIGUE
Have you noticed a huge lack of energy throughout the day? Are you having difficulty sleeping at night? Is your sex drive lower than usual? If this sounds like you, your body might be experiencing adrenal fatigue.
Located on top of our kidneys, our adrenals are pyramid-shaped glands that produce the primary stress hormone called cortisol. When we experience drastic life changes, our adrenal glands will secrete cortisol to help our bodies manage the stress. In moderation, this is a normal and healthy response. However, excessive amounts of the hormone can cause adrenal fatigue.
Adrenal fatigue, also known as adrenal dysfunction, causes a reverse in the cortisol curve. More often than not, adrenal fatigue and andropause walk hand in hand. Unfortunately, the side effects of adrenal fatigue for men can include intense sluggishness, lack of sleep at night, lowered sex drive and erectile dysfunction, slow down of metabolism, and a negatively impacted immune system. In extreme cases, it can even lead to adrenal failure.
HYPOTHYROIDISM
When people refer to hypothyroidism, most consider it a thyroid disorder that only affects women. Even though the majority of those diagnosed are female, this isn’t always the case. In fact, thousands of men around the nation also experience the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck. This small gland is responsible for our entire body’s metabolic function. It also produces special hormones that regulate:
Body temperature
Levels of hydration
Hair and nail growth
Oftentimes, the traditional testing performed by our primary care and sometimes even endocrinologists will not be able to identify hypothyroidism. Unfortunately, this disorder can cause hormonal imbalances that result in the following symptoms for men:
Weight gain
Changes in body temperature
Low Libido
Erectile Dysfunction
Fatigue
Loss of sleep
Anxiety
Constipation
So, is there a way to help balance our hormones and minimize the negative symptoms of andropause, adrenal fatigue, and hypothyroidism in men?
HORMONE REPLACEMENT therapy for men
Here’s the good news: male hormone imbalances are easily treatable. Hormone imbalance solutions like Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) are a great way to balance testosterone and other hormones that affect the adrenals and thyroid.
At AgeRejuvenation, we offer a natural Hormone Replacement Therapy for men called Pellet Therapy.
WHAT IS PELLET THERAPY?
Pellet therapy is the process of re-establishing hormones that have been lost in your body and reduce the negative symptoms of hormone imbalances.
At AgeRejuvenation, our practitioners use a natural hormone pellet therapy also known as Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). Bio-identical hormones are derived from natural sources, such as yams or roots, that best mimic the molecular structure of the hormones we naturally create. This way, our body can readily identify the hormones and levels are restored within the body.
The treatment is called pellet therapy because it comes in the form of tiny pellets that are placed under the skin, which allows the body to absorb trace amounts of vital hormones for 5-6 months at a time.
IS PELLET THERAPY SAFE?
Not only is pellet therapy safe, but it is also completely natural. These testosterone pellets for men are bio-identical and are derived from natural plant materials. Therefore, it is more readily able to be absorbed by the body.
Furthermore, all of our doctors specialize in anti-aging medicine, and provide an appropriate number of pellets and quality procedures. Ask your AgeRejuvenation medical specialist if pellet therapy is right for you.
HOW DOES PELLET THERAPY WORK?
Pellet therapy works to reduce the risk of health issues like adrenal fatigue, balance hormone levels, increase metabolism, and live an overall healthier life.
When you come in for your pellet therapy treatment, an AgeRejuvenation medical professional will first take a sample of your blood to determine your current hormone levels which is then interpreted by our medical providers. At AgeRejuvenation, our treatment is also personalized to each individual and analyzes the following factors:
Hormone levels
Adrenals
Thyroid
Nutrition
Performance
Medical history
Once we determine the perfect amount of hormone pellets for your body’s needs, we use lidocaine to numb the incision site and then carefully place the pellet in your body. Pellets are very small and are about the size of a grain of rice. The testosterone pellets for men are placed in the flank or glute, under the fat.
Since pellets are bioidentical, they mimic the natural molecular structure of the hormones you have naturally occurring in the body, such as testosterone and estradiol. Depending on the hormone levels your body needs, this treatment will steadily release hormones for a 5 to 6-month period.
Once the pellets are inserted into your body, steri-strips are applied to close the site. We recommend you leave the bandage on for 5-6 days or until it falls off on its own.
MALE PELLET THERAPY RESULTS
Once the pellets start to release testosterone into your bloodstream, you should begin to feel more energetic and focused. You may find it easier to:
Lose weight
Build muscle
Balance your immune system
Control negative emotions like irritability
Here’s the best part: if low libido and reduced sex drive were included in your personal list of hormone imbalance symptoms, then your pellet therapy treatment may also increase your interest in intimacy with your partner. Overall, pellet therapy for men will optimize the balance of your health and wellness.
THE AGEREJUVENATION DIFFERENCE
When it comes to pellet therapy, it is important that your doctors have experience with the procedure as well as prescribing pellet dosages.
BHRT SPECIALIZED DOCTORS
Unfortunately, too many doctors simply prescribe dosages based on your age and weight. These factors don’t offer nearly enough information to understand what your body actually needs. Our board certified doctors will make sure that the hormones administered are exactly the right amount for your optimal health based on your complete body composition and blood work.
Additionally, our doctors have a great deal of experience in pellet administration, so you don’t have to worry about pellets falling out or being ineffective as long as you take the precautions outlined by our staff.
READY TO BALANCE YOUR HORMONES?
You don’t have to suffer unwanted hormone imbalance symptoms anymore. By restoring hormone levels, you can finally regain your energy, metabolism, and youthful performance.
At AgeRejuvenation, our Hormone Replacement Therapy for men essentially reverses the aging process by rebalancing the body and restoring hormone levels to their optimal levels. Contact an AgeRejuvenation men’s clinic near you today to schedule a free consultation!
