QWO CELLULITE TREATMENT

What is QWO?

Qwo is the first FDA-Approved Injectable Cellulite Treatment that releases deep dimples through dissolving the fibrous bands that cause them, with a simple injection of a safe drug that’s been used for years in other medical applications. Qwo is composed primarily of CCH-Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum. Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum is an enzyme that breaks down collagen (specifically Type 1 and Type 3) in specific tissues to help the body create new and better-quality skin. QWO is a clear, odorless water-like cellulite injection that is administered through tiny needles into the dimples responsible for creating the appearance of cellulite.

WHAT IS CELLULITE?

Cellulite is a complex multifactorial condition hallmarked by fat trapped in the dermal layer of your skin leading to dimpling, waviness, “orange peel” or “cottage cheese” appearing skin texture and/or overall less smooth contour irregularity. QWO for cellulite is a complex aesthetic solution for women who suffer with cellulite appearance.

How does QWO Work?

When QWO is injected it starts by enzymatically disrupting the fibrous septae responsible for creating cellulite resulting in a smoother appearance of the treated skin. QWO injections have been FDA-approved to treat cellulite on the buttocks.

Aftercare and Ongoing Maintenance

Patients who have undergone QWO injections typically have bruising that can last one to two weeks after the first treatment as well as moderate swelling for the first few days.

Patients may see an improvement as early as three weeks after their injections. However, the improvement continues, and most patients require more than one treatment cycle of QWO. A maximum of three treatments are needed spaced 3 weeks (21 days) apart to see the most effective results.

QWO Injection FAQ

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, 21 days apart.

QWO is injected by your aesthetic specialist directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle.

You should not receive QWO if you are allergic to any collagenase or the ingredients in QWO, or have an active infection in the treatment area.

If your aesthetic specialist determines that QWO is right for you, she or he will decide on a treatment plan, including the total number of treatments.

Each treatment visit may include up to 2 treatment areas. QWO injections will be given 21 days apart for 3 treatment visits.

It’s not fully understood how QWO works in moderate to severe cellulite. The enzymes in QWO—called collagenases—are believed to target a structural cause under your skin.

It’s thought that QWO works in 3 ways: releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.

QWO may cause serious side effects including allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis and injection site bruising.

The most common side effects of QWO include: injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area.

In clinical studies, side effects generally lasted less than 3 weeks.

These are not all the possible side effects of QWO.
